The hearing examiner must be appointed solely with regard to his or her qualifications to perform the duties of the office, and will have such training and experience as will qualify the hearing examiner to conduct administrative and quasi-judicial hearings on regulatory enactments and to discharge such other functions conferred upon the hearing examiner by the mayor or city council. The hearing examiner may hold no other elected or appointed office in the city government. (Ord. 1513 § 1 (Exh. A), 2023).
