The planning department will evaluate the amendment request, collect necessary data, and conduct the appropriate analysis and environmental assessment. The department will solicit comments from the general public, organizations, agencies, other governmental departments and adjacent jurisdictions. The department will then report and make recommendations as appropriate. The department will present the proposed amendments to the planning commission. The planning commission shall conduct a public hearing and make recommendations to the city council concerning proposed amendments.
