If the council determines to adopt an amendment or reclassification, it shall do so by ordinance. This ordinance shall clarify any previous ordinances that would be repealed or modified. The amendment or reclassification ordinance shall also direct the planning director to make the necessary changes to the official comprehensive land use map and zoning map of the city.
