(1) This code may be cited as the “Stanwood Municipal Code” or by the initialism “SMC.”

(2) It is sufficient to refer to this code as the “Stanwood Municipal Code” in any prosecution for the violation of any provision thereof or in any proceeding at law or equity.

(3) It is sufficient to designate any ordinance adding to, amending, correcting, or repealing all or any part or portion thereof as an addition to, amendment to, correction or repeal of the “Stanwood Municipal Code.”

(4) Reference to the titles, chapters, and sections of the “Stanwood Municipal Code” applies to that numbered title, chapter, or section as it appears in the code.

(5) Whenever this code requires a sign to be posted to provide notice of a law or rule, it must include reference to the provision in the Stanwood Municipal Code, not to the ordinance number.

(6) Whenever a reference is made to this code as the “Stanwood Municipal Code” or to any portion thereof, or to any ordinance of the city of Stanwood, Washington, the reference applies to all amendments, corrections, and additions heretofore, now or hereafter made. (Ord. 1512 § 1 (Exh. A), 2023).
